On Tuesday, May 17th at 10.00, at the Venice Heritage Tower in Venice, was held in hybrid mode, the first meeting of the cycle “Towards Industry 4.0. Strategies for change in the shipbuilding sector, its supply chain and logistics” promoted by Veneto Region with Confindustria Veneto SIAV s.p.a. and Polytechnic of Bari.
During the seminar titled: “THE INDUSTRIAL TRANSITION 4.0. CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FACTORY OF THE FUTURE” the experts of FUTURE 4.0 PLUS project tried to answer the following questions:
What does Industry 4.0 mean? What are the challenges and opportunities that Industry 4.0 underlie for the shipbuilding sector, its supply chain, and related logistics? There are valuable experiences and reference models to inspire its adoption? What are the public measures supporting the transition?
Starting from the results of the project, the event aimed to deepen the theme of Industry 4.0, the technologies and skills enabling the industrial transition, identify the critical issues but also the opportunities it represents in terms of competitiveness for companies, presenting some interesting business cases that have joined the project experimentation in the Local Pilot Action Phase in Veneto, and finally illustrate the tools and policies in place at European, national and regional level to support business upgrade, innovation, and industrial transition.
After the seminar, for the participants, was possible to visit the former evaporative tower for water cooling and the “House of business museography”, unique excellence in the world for the preservation of cultural heritage linked to local industrial history.
